The United Mine Workers attempted to unionize Taxi drivers in Orlando in May 1949. An article from the Orlando Post published Friday, May 20, 1949, calls for those on strike to stop the violence towards non-striking Taxi drivers, their managers and customers. It seems some folks were being struck by eggs and bricks.
